Fix the Error: iTunes Not Responding in Windows 7

Create a New User Account

If the user account in Windows 7 is corrupt, it may cause iTunes to malfunction. Follow these steps to create a new account:


  • Click on Start
  • Open Control Panel
  • Click on User Accounts icon
  • Click on Create a New Account
  • Enter the name of the account
  • Grant Admin rights to this new account
  • Logoff the current account and login into newly created account
  • Now try to run iTunes

Install Latest Version of iTunes

Using an outdated version of iTunes also results in iTunes response errors in Windows 7. By downloading and installing a latest version of iTunes we may fix the problem. Follow procedure stated below:


  • Go to Control Panel
  • Click on Programs and Features
